The 4th Annual Okuyamba Fest will be held on Thursday, October 22nd at Center for Hospice Care’s Mishawaka Campus (501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka IN 46545). This celebration of international food, wine/beer, art and crafts will feature an optional private screening of Road to Hope, a film produced by the Hospice Foundation that documents the lives of orphaned child caregivers. The movie outlines the journeys of hope taken by both these childcare givers after the death of their parents, as well as those who shepherd them on their journey.
The event will run from 5:30 pm until 9:30 pm and will feature tastings of international foods, international beer and wines, and a silent auction of hand-made Ugandan art and crafts. We also encourage attendees to attend one of two screenings of Road to Hope at 6:15 pm and 7:40 pm. Those attending the event are welcome to come at any time during the event, but are asked to please arrive at least 15 minutes before the screening time selected.
Registration is available online here. Simply select the screening you would like to attend. Tickets for the event are $25/person or $45/couple. Space is limited to 80 per screening. For more information, contact Red Fisher at FisherR@centerforhospice.org or 574.243.3119. Proceeds from Okuyamba Fest benefit the Road to Hope Fund, which provides educational and financial support for childcare givers.
