Friends of Hospice 2026

Everyone deserves care that honors who they are – their passions, values, faith and traditions. This is especially true for veterans who faithfully served our country, many of whom received little or no thanks for their sacrifices. 

Center for Hospice Care understands that each veteran has a unique story. We are dedicated to helping them and their loved ones celebrate their lives and honor their service. 

CHC’s focus on providing compassionate care to all includes a strong commitment to its veteran patients and their loved ones. This year’s Friends of Hospice appeal is dedicated to raising financial support for our integrated, veteran-specific approaches to end-of-life care and ensuring that all veterans receive high-quality end-of-life care, regardless of their ability to pay. 

This includes adding veteran-specific content into CHC’s staff and volunteer orientation and education. This enables our staff and volunteers to meet the specific needs of veterans through:

• pinning ceremonies for all branches (one way we say, “thank you for your service”)
• matching veteran volunteers to veteran patients
• vet-to-vet cafes
• honor flights to Washington, DC (when available)
• specialized bereavement support

Our specialized programs and expert teams provide the most experienced, compassionate care in
northern Indiana. Our veteran patients and their loved ones can count on specialized care, veteran-to-veteran companionship and respectful recognition of their service.
