On November 21, Center for Hospice Care (CHC), the Hospice Foundation (HF) and the Center for Education & Advance Care Planning (CEACP) welcomed the 2019-2020 school year’s Vera Z. Dwyer Fellow in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Dr. Collin Bowman. The event was held at Raclin-Carmichael Hall at the IU School of Medicine South Bend (IUSM-SB). Along with attending a reception, Dr. Bowman took part in a discussion with IUSM-SB students before hand.
Thanks to the generosity of the Vera Z. Dwyer Charitable Trust, we are able to fund one fellow per school year in the program. The reception was attended by area physicians, leaders and other supporters. Mark D. Fox, MD, PhD, MPH, associate dean and regional campus director for IUSM-SB and Mark Murray, President/CEO of CHC, HF and CEACP, made remarks. Those attending also heard from Dr. Lyle Fettig, who directs the fellowship program, as well as Dr. Bowman. To make a contribution to the Vera Z. Dwyer Fellowship matching fund, please visit foundationforhospice.org/dwyermatch.
