Touching Base

It has been a couple of days since I had a chance to write to you, but I have been thinking of you as I move from activity to activity! The Children’s Camp ended early afternoon on Saturday. I have to admit the days were very busy and it was a challenge to do everything we wanted to do with the children and to remain on schedule in such a few days. Somehow it all comes together and the children are assured that we care for them and love them.

Somehow 4 hours ago when I started this I thought I would have some “free time” to correspond – having sent the neighbor children on their way to play together outside – but a few people began arriving “to visit.” The main problem was they really acted as though they knew me, calling me by name and introducing their children, but I had absolutely no idea who they were! Then someone else arrived and just said, “I’m with them!” I smiled a lot and they smiled a lot and a few English words were understood. I tried to explain that I was busy, but didn’t want to be unwelcoming. By the time they left I lost my momentum  and it was time to prepare something simple to eat.

I think I will use some of my time at the office tomorrow to tell you about the camp and send a few more pictures.
