Center for Hospice Care (CHC) has been honoring deserving recipients with our Helping Hands Award for 35 years. CHC was thrilled to honor Catherine Hiler – a true community servant and long-time supporter of CHC and the Hospice Foundation – for 2019.
“I can think of absolutely no one more deserving of our 35th Helping Hands Award,” said Mark Murray, President/CEO of CHC and the Hospice Foundation. “Catherine has been a tremendous asset to not only this organization, but also to the entire community. Her desire to give back has left an indelible mark on this community.”
The award was presented during CHC’s annual Helping Hands Award Dinner, which was held on May 1, 2019 at the Hilton Garden Inn in South Bend. The event was attended by nearly 500 guests, who enjoyed a magical evening honoring Catherine’s service to the community.
“I can’t remember a nicer Helping Hands Award Dinner,” said Mike Wargo, chief operating officer of the Hospice Foundation. “The genuine affection and appreciation for Catherine was evident in the room, and guests were treated to a truly special evening.”
The Helping Hands Award is given each year by Center for Hospice Care and the Hospice Foundation to members of the community who have exemplified service and sacrifice.
