Introduction

Since 1980, Center for Hospice Care has kept its promise that no one eligible for hospice services will be turned away, regardless of their ability to pay. Your gifts and support of Hospice Foundation help assure that this promise will always be met. We value the trust our donors and supporters place in us when they donate to help fulfill this mission.

What is the purpose of our donor privacy policy?

To help maintain the trust and the confidence that donors and prospective donors place in our organization, we have created a donor privacy policy to provide transparency about the donor information we collect and how it used.

What donor information is included in this policy?

Donor information includes personally identifiable, specific information such as your full name, street address, email address(es), phone number(s) and credit card information. It may also include non-personally identifiable information such as web browser cookies, IP address and operating system.

How do we collect donor information?

Your information may be collected when you make a contribution on our website, in person, over the phone or when you mail us a check. It may also be collected when a donation is made on your behalf through a foundation, donor-advised fund or another third party.

How do we use donor information?

We use our donor’s personal information to collect payment information, billing address and other information to complete event registrations or to process donations. We will not sell, share or trade your personal information collected through our website or any other activities with any entity outside Center for Hospice Care-affiliated organizations. We will only share your personal information if you give us permission to do so.

Your personal information may also be used to comply with the law, to protect our rights or to protect the personal safety of others if urgent circumstances require this. We may also use your personal information to protect our organization against potential fraud by verifying information collected while processing a gift, completing an event registration or processing another donation.

How do we recognize our donors?

Thanking our donors for their support takes many forms. One of these is public recognition of donations in materials produced by Center for Hospice Care and/or Hospice Foundation. These include donor plaques, print materials, digital materials and presentations, which may be shared in social media and on our web sites. If you would like us to exclude your name from these materials or would like your gift to be designated “anonymous,” please send your request to:

We reserve the right to update/modify this policy without notification. The website will indicate the date the policy was last updated.
